OVO Energy are one of the newest entrants into the energy market - supplying both gas and electricity - on simple tariffs that offer either low cost and modest green credentials, or a 100% green tariff.
Visit OVO EnergyOvo was launched in 2009 promising to always do what they say they are going to do and not make commitments they can't keep. They say they want to earn the trust of customers through this strategy. To promote their green technology they promise to plant a tree in each customer's name every year in support of the Woodland Trust.
So far they have certainly been building a strong reputation with customers who have switched to them. Ovo came top of the Which survey of 2015. Customers who question whether OVO are any good should be reassured not only by the percentage of happy customers but also the fact this is from a significant sample size as well.
The company clearly also have the ability to be lean and mean - they do not offer any payment method other than monthly direct debit or the ability to have postal bills - keeps the costs down, but better still without an existing customer base they have no-one to upset by not offering these features. Clever!
The Which? Customer Satisfaction Score
The customer satisfaction score is based on the responses consumers gave for both overall satisfaction and likelihood to recommend the supplier to a friend. Both questions are given equal weighting, and only those giving a valid response to both questions are included in the analysis. The responses are then analysed and scaled to give a rating between 0 - 100%.
