When picking your Malaga Car rental deal you will have the option of picking a supplier who either operates from the terminal buildings or alternatively operates from a location nearby. If you choose an off airport supplier you will find a bus service that operates from the airport to pick up your car.

It's obviously more convenient to be on airport, but this often means you pay a higher rate. Whichever option you choose, be aware the desks are likely to be busy in peak holiday periods so it's not a bad idea to send the driver through to collect the car whilst the rest of the party collect the bags in the luggage hall.

Car Hire Companies at Malaga Airport

Finding out whether your car is on or off airport is also not as easy as it could be - some companies are up front and display it visibly - with others you have to look for clues on their website. The companies who are represented in the Malaga Terminal building are:

Obviously renting your car directly from one of these firms will almost certainly result in your rental being on-airport. However, normally that also means a higher price than Malaga car hire through a broker. So, if you are looking for the best of both worlds, use our car hire search engine, and then check for office location. You will either find it clearly explained or you may find a clue as to which company will be actually supplying your car - and remember you are looking for the following firms who are on airport: Avis, Europcar, Goldcar, Hertz, RecordGo and Sixt. If you book with one of these firms, watch out for the ramp from the baggage area down to the car hire hall.

Having got the keys, you will then be directed to the car parks where the hire cars are garaged. You will enter the car park at Level -1 where Avis, Goldcar and Hertz have their cars. Europcar and Sixt are on the Ground Floor, whilst RecordGo have space on both.

If it's an off-airport car hire firm you are using, you will probably need one of the courtesy buses that run to and from Malaga airport every quarter of an hour. A representative may collect you as your flight lands. The shuttles run from a bus stop which is about 50 yards from the main exit to the arrivals terminal.

The car hire firms Centauro, Enterprise, Helle Hollis, and Del Paso all use buses.

Two companies, Tony's Rent-A-Car and Yellow Car can be reached by a footbridge that runs across the main road. To find the footbridge go up to the departures hall on level 1, leave the terminal and turn right, following directions towards the railway station. Follow this for a short distance and then cross the road and go through the car park.
