Tomorrow marks a very busy day for all tech and gadget lovers as both the iPad 2 and Nintentdo 3DS go on sale in the UK. As technology fans queue to get their hands on the latest goods, students in particular should watch out as one in eight is a victim of gadget theft every year.
According to European bank Santander,
£54 million worth of student possessions were stolen last year. Those who buy flashy gadgets such as smartphones, gaming devices and laptops are often victims of theft.
The average value of this theft is £211,that's just under the price of the new Nindento 3DS. The figures show 209,000 students around the UK have been a victim of theft while at university in the last 12 months. Gadgets are the thieves' item of choice as 13 per cent of victims have had cameras stolen and 11 per cent have had their mp3 or music device stolen.
The popular gaming device, Nintentdo 3DS allows users to enjoy the 3D experience without having to wear special glasses. The Nintendo 3DS has three cameras, so gamers can take pictures of themselves whilst gaming.
The successor to the iPad is said to be lighter brighter and way more fun. The iPad 2 is double the speed of the original ipad and the graphics process is nine times faster. The long awaited device has two video cameras.
Shiny and sleek the iPad2 will be available in white for the very first time and one of the main attractions to the new model is that it's a third slimmer than the iPad. The new portable device weighs 2 pounds lighter that its predecessor.
