Why hiring a car in Milan can make so much more of your trip
Milan is a great hub to fly into and then use a rented car to transfer onto your destination. It has three airports, Malpensa, the intercontinental base, Linate, which serves the UK, but also many Italian desintations and the low cost airport Bergamo.
Although Milan itself is not a city to drive into without a great deal of planning and some courage, using it as a cheap entry point for both Northern Italian and neighbouring countries can work out really well.
Do bear in mind that there is a congestion charge for driving in the centre of Milan. These areas are marked by a sign saying AreaC. Ask your car hire company for more information if you plan to drive in the city centre.
Make sure you compare car hire excess insurance through MoneyMaxim to get a great value deal on this cover! Buying excess insurance at the car hire desk can cost you dearly.
