Make the most of your time in Nice with a rental car. Nice is a destination in itself, and with an airport right on its doorstep, more museums and art galleries than any other French city outside Paris, its wonderful eating and shopping and the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea, it's easy to see its attraction. A hire car from Nice airport offers you a wealth of opportunities.

Some of its 'don't miss' sights include:

The Promenade des Anglais - Almost certainly the image that Nice will conjure in your mind - The French Riveria at its best, with laid back visitors passing the time of day on the famous blue chairs, stalls selling crepes, pastries and drinks, and the fantastic, albeit expensive seafront restaurants. Imagine yourself relaxing in the warm sun as a smart waiter arrives with your favourite cocktails!

Matisse Museum - Matisse's art epitomises Nice and will transport you back to a resort that has changed much, but then not changed at all. Great for a memento of your visit, the gift shop has a wide range of Matisse's prints.

Cours Saleya Flower Market - The Flower Market in Nice is an array of vibrant colours and is a wonderful way to while away an hour. Stop for a coffee in one of the many cafes which surround the market. Open Tuesday to Sunday, it is replaced by a flea market on Mondays.

Old Nice (Vieux Nice) - Old Nice, with its cosmopolitan atmosphere and the maze of narrow streets is home to many cafes, bars and restaurants. every so often opening up to reveal beautiful buildings and squares.

A hire car allows you to both visit the city but also take one or two Grace Kelly like trips along the Riveria where you can marvel at the winding roads framed by the deep blue Mediterranean.
