Cayman Islands car hire can be confusing!
The country adopts some practices from the US and some that are more often found in European markets. This means comparing car rental deals is more difficult, as there is not a standard package offered by all car rental firms across the Cayman Islands.
Some car hire packages include both Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Liability Insurance, others offer just CDW, and some neither. Independent policies are available to cover all these elements as well as additional cover to insure damage to the tyres, wheels, underbody and roof of the car (which are all normally excluded from any rental agreement). These can be much cheaper than policies offered by car hire firms.
