Ottawa is the capital city of Canada despite only being the 4th largest city in the country. It is in the province of Ontario not a great distance from Montreal and the US border. MacDonald Cartier airport is one of a few around Ottawa but is the busiest in terms of passenger traffic - pre Covid there were in the region of 5 million passing through every year. The airport is situated just over 6 miles south of the city.

The airport sees mostly domestic flights although there are regular flights to Washington-Dulles in the US. In season there are additional flights to Mexico and Florida.
