Do you need a special type of travel insurance policy to cover the type of activity you are undertaking when away on holiday?
They answer may well be yes - even when your holiday is not focused on a particular type of trip - such as a golf break or safari as many of us now are apt to decide on the spur of the moment to sign up for a boat trip, rent a quad bike or scooter or jump on a banana boat - all of these may not be covered by a run of the mill insurance policy.
We specialise in travel insurance which can cover the widest range of activities - in fact across our panel almost 500 different sports, hobbies and pastimes can be covered - either on a standard travel insurance policy, one which has a special extension to cover your particular chosen activity or even a top up - which will allow you to stay with your current insurer, but will provide cover for your specific event.
Sorts and Activity travel insurance is designed to cover you for any injury, or illness , that is a result of the activity you are undertaking. In some situations, such as winter sports or golf travel insurance it will probably also cover the sports equipment you own, or are hiring.
It can also, in some instances, cover public liability in case you are held responsible for injuries you might inflict of others as a result of the pastime - although you do need to read policy terms carefully in this respect - many will exclude liability cover for activities which involve motorised transportation or guns for instance.
Read our guides covering the specific sport you are planning to take part in - where we will also suggest suitable insurers who will provide cover for your chosen activity.
