Staysure Insurance

Staysure Insurance provide a number of policies including cover for single trips, annual and winter sports for those who are over 50 and for customers with pre-existing medical conditions

What we like:

Good cover for those with a pre existing medical condition
Have a clear list of around 220 conditions that are covered without additional screening
Cover can be extended to cover Cruises, Long stay trips Golf cover and Winter Sports cover.
No upper age limits

What we are not so keen on:

Children cannot be insured to travel separately

Single Trip Cover

Covers trip lasting up to 104 days, although long stay cover is also available.There is no upper age limit. Pretty decent sports cover, but no upgrade available for more extreme activities.

Annual (Multi Trip) Cover

No upper age limit for travellers with 183 days of travel allowed within the 12 months of the policy. 28 days of winter sports cover when you take out a Signature policy.

Winter Sports

Ski and snowboarding cover is only offered for those under 70 years of age. Activities covered include the following:

Ice-skating (outdoor)
Snowboarding (off-piste but on recognised and authorised areas only)
Skiing (off-piste but on recognised and authorised areas only)
Snowboarding (on-piste)
Skiing (on piste / glacier)
Tobogganing

Additionally the policy can be extended to cover the following sports and activities amongst others for an additional premium, but no cover will apply in respect of any Personal Accident or Personal Liability claims:

Ice sailing/ice windsurfing
Snow Mobiling
Skidoo

Backpacking Cover

No specific policy, although see long stay cover below.

Long Stay

Available for travellers up to 75 years old, covering long stay trips from 3 to 18 months. Similar cover to that offered under single trip.

Travel Insurance for Cruises

Staysure standard policy has an optional Cruise Plus Cover which covers cruise specific areas such as Missed Port Departure, Cabin Confinement and Cruise Interruption.

Pre-existing Medical Conditions

Staysure are market leaders in offering online screening of medical conditions for policyholders of all ages, as well as having a list of around 220 pre existing medical conditions that they cover without additional screening or premium increase.

Travelling whilst Pregnant

Staysure offers both cancellation cover and medical cover for complications in pregnancy.
