Hotel Booking Brokers and Services have grown rapidly over the past few years. There are now services that even review accommodation being offered by multiple brokers, and these are all designed to help you track down a hotel room or self catering apartment right around the world.
They are beneficial as they offer an insight into the standards you might expect from the hotel, as they host user reviews, and also allow you to use their filters to sort by location, price, quality or star rating.
They are not always the answer though. Some hotels don't use them at all, some only use them if they have surplus capacity, and some use them on a seasonal basis.
On the other hand, if a hotel has spare rooms, using a broker is a great way of getting those rooms booked and potentially offering the rooms at a lower rate than they offer on their website which could upset loyal customers who have already booked.
