Enjoy the Olympic Dream with Car Rental in Paris

We can help you find the ideal car hire for your holiday in France

olympic flag and green car

Unbelievably there are less than 5 weeks to go before the start of the 33rd Olympic Games in Paris. The athletes have been training for this moment for most of their lives. You can be there to support them and enjoy a fantastic summer of sport!

We can help you with car hire in France so that you can be right where the action is.

The host of the 2024 Olympics is Paris, however, like with many past Olympics, a number of sports are being held at different venues all across the country. Whether you have been lucky enough to get tickets for any of the events or just want to be there to soak up the atmosphere we can assist with finding the car hire that fits with your plans. We can even help if you need to use a debit card for your car hire in France, or if you want to find a rental that only requires a smaller security deposit.

If you need car hire for your France trip for the Paris Olympics then start your search now as cars are still available but they might not be for long!

The football tournament kicks off across a number of venues with matches being held in stadiums in cities such as Nice, Lyon and Bordeaux. Marseille is hosting football but also has the sailing taking place at Marseille Marina.

If you have tickets for the rowing or canoeing then you will need to head for the Nautical Stadium at Vaires-sur-Marne to the east of Paris and for the cycling you will need the Saint Quentin en Yvelines velodrome to the south west.

The shooting finals are taking place quite a distance from the capital at the specialist centre in Chateauroux about a 3-hour drive from Paris. Although the surfing competition is being held in Tahiti which would require more than just car hire from France!

How to find your ideal Paris Olympics car hire

City centre pick up

Driving in Paris can be unnerving if you haven't done it before and, if you are landing at Charles de Gaulle and plan to enjoy a few days in Paris first then you may prefer to pick up your car in the city centre just before you leave for the next stage of your trip. Choose from a down town location when you search for your pick up location with MoneyMaxim.

One-way hires

We can also help with one-way hires. Just untick the box that says drop off and pick up location are the same to get a quote. If you love the football, you may have tickets for both the match between Ukraine and Argentina on the 30th July in Lyon and also for the men’s quarter final at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris on the 2nd August. If this were the case you could choose to fly into Lyon and pick up a rental car then return it in Paris before flying back from the airport there.

Young driver car hire in France

Sporting events are understandably popular with young adults. You can rent a car from 18 years of age provided any drivers have held a full licence for over a year. You may need to pay young driver surcharges. Any additional drivers who are also under the age of 25 will need to pay the young driver fees and have a valid licence as well.

Insurance for peace of mind

Through MoneyMaxim you can also purchase car hire excess insurance. These policies can not only reimburse you should you be charged any of your excess but they also cover areas such as your wheels, tyres, glass, mirrors, roof and underbody. These parts of the rental car are often not covered by the collision damage waiver that comes with your hire.
