Spain and its islands are the ideal destination to catch some early sunshine. If you are heading off to warmer shores this Easter, we have some great car hire deals for Spain.

The Canaries are always a winning choice for a spring getaway. Temperatures in April can reach around 23 degrees and with about 11 hours of sunshine per day you will have plenty of opportunity to catch those rays!

Visit Lanzarote for its unique terrain which resembles a lunar landscape. At its plentiful supply of beaches you can take part in all kinds of watersports from snorkelling to jet skiing. It also has its own wineries where you can sample their amazing Malvasia wines. Lanzarote is also home to Europe's first underwater museum. With a rental car in Lanzarote you will be explore it all.

Tenerife has numerous golf courses so, if you fancy improving your swing in the sunshine, then this island could be your perfect choice. Hire a car in Tenerife and you can put your clubs in the back and enjoy each of them in turn! In between rounds there is Teide National Park with its volcano. Try climbing it at dawn for some magnificent views.

If you would rather stay on the mainland then try Estepona on the Costa del Sol. Its beaches tend to be quieter in the summer than some of the other resorts on this stretch of coastline so in April they are likely to be even less crowded. Drive just an hour west along the coast to visit Tarifa, a haven for windsurfers and a great place for whale watching.

If food is your thing then the lesser known mountain village of Benahavis is a real treat. It has the highest concentration of high class eateries in the Costa del Sol. There are plenty of places to stay nearby then you can park up and walk into the village to take your pick of the wonderful restaurants. The area around Benahavis offers many opportunities for hiking.

Prices are still very low in these areas. An economy sized car hired at Tenerife South airport for the week 12th-19th April 2019 costs from just £40.80. From Lanzarote airport the cost is £49.39 and from Malaga airport an amazing £20.12!* Together with Car hire excess insurance you have a winning combination.
