Thrifty Car Hire insurance which is included on standard European car hire agreements offers Third Party Liability Insurance, Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection for the vehicle. Cover may be different for non-UK renters.
Damage Liability Excesses levied in the UK by Thrifty for most rental cars vary from £1000 (on Economy to Standard cars) and £1250 for all other groups (including Full Size People Carriers and 4 x 4s) are £1250 whilst on the Prestige 4 x 4s and the luxury automatics the excess is £1500 (excepting luxury 4 x 4 and BMW640 which are £2000). Finally luxury or sports cars can have excesses up to £5000. Damage liability reduction (reducing the damage liability to nil for cars) is available at participating locations for an additional cost for drivers between 25 and 70. the costs vary are follows:
Insurance is subject to a damage excess liability which varies according to vehicle size.
Excess Liability Reduction is available at participating locations for an additional cost but is not available to drivers aged 22-24 or aged 70 or over and as can be seen below for cars which fall into the lower two groups of waiver category.

At the discretion of the companies management they can withdraw the sale of Damage Liability waiver at any time (for example, due to extreme weather conditions).
