Enterprise Rent a Car offer car rentals internationally with corporate offices in the UK, US, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Ireland.
They usually offer CDW insurance and Liability Insurance with their vehicles dependent on the location, so please read the conditions carefully.
Excess ProtectionIn the UK the Excess Protection policy sold by Enterprise reduces excess amount to £100 for Mini, Economy, Compact, Intermediate and Standard cars, and £250 for other vehicle's.
The cost of this policy varies by vehicle size but as at April 2023 for an compact sized vehicle hired in the UK it would cost £20.00 per day.
Roadside assistance protection (RAP)This covers the costs of tyre replacement and repairs or replacement of the vehicles glass if it is chipped or cracked. Replacement keys and at fault roadside assistance callouts (but not where there has been a breach of the rental agreement) are also covered - think things like flat batteries, running out of fuel etc. RAP costs (as at April 23) £12.00 per day for an compact car in the UK.
Personal Accident Insurance/Personal Effects CoverageThis is optional for death and injury expense benefits and to cover personal items within the car. You may already have travel insurance which covers these. This is not available in all locations.
Some users prefer the in house Enterprise cover policies as it saves the hassle of a post incident claim (this being dealt with at the car hire station on return), rather than having to pay for the cost of an incident and then claiming the cost back from an insurer as is the case with standalone insurance policies.
Excesses up to £75,000 and the areas above can be covered through independent insurance policies compared on the MoneyMaxim car hire insurance service and these cost from around £1.80 per day (from around £5.50 per day for a van) so we would suggest customers planning to rent an Enterprise Hire Car check prices there.
The recommended way forward is to run a quote for car hire excess insurance or van hire excess insurance through Moneymaxim and then compare features and prices. You can then make a considered judgement as to your preferred way forward.
