Ski Travel Insurance Including Terrain Park Cover

Do you need snowpark cover with your wintersports travel insurance? We compare companies which offer this as standard.

Snowparks, or Terrain parks as they are also known, are designated areas for skiers and snowboarders where they can practise tricks and jumps. There are often pipes, rails and ramps which are used by freestyle skiers. As these areas are designed for performing stunts, there is a greater chance of injury - particularly if you are a novice - and therefore many insurers do not automatically cover their use in their wintersports policies.

To be covered by any snowpark insurance you would need to be using the designated area and following all the safety guidelines in terms of equipment such as wearing a helmet.

If you are competing, this may not be insured through the standard snowpark/wintersports policy although some insurers will offer cover for an additional premium.

Will my Wintersports travel insurance cover me for snow parks?

Not necessarily. Travel insurers that offer winter sports may have limits on where you can ski or snowboard. Snowparks often have jumps which means the risk of injury is higher. Some insurers may not cover you without an upgrade. Some may not cover you at all.

Understanding what cover you have with your wintersports is important as if you sustain an injury and you are not covered, mountain rescue can be very expensive.
