Though there is a limited choice of suppliers we are able to offer a range of cars for hire in Bamako, Mali. Given the road conditions in Mali, it will come as no surprise that 4x4s and SUVs are extremely popular.

Be very careful booking car hire in Mali as collision damage waiver (CDW) and theft waiver insurance is often not included in the hire price. You can protect yourself with a full CDW and SLI (supplementary liability insurance) policy - however, please note that Supplementary Liability Insurance policies are designed to top up rather than replace existing 3rd party liability insurance so do not refuse basic 3rd party liability insurance when offered.

Avis do offer car hire in Mali and their cars come with collision and theft waivers - however they also include a hefty excess of over £1000 making car hire insurance worthwhile especially with the increased risk of damage to tyres, windscreen and underside of the car that you face in Mali.
