Car hire in the Czech Republic is available from right across the country with MoneyMaxim. And with the culture and heritage on offer in this small landlocked country it's not surprising that visitors want to make the most of their stay and what better way than with a rental car.
Cesky Krumlov, Telc and Prague are all heritage sites on the UNESCO list whilst there are a multitude of castles and churches to draw the visitor to every corner of the Czech Republic. It is also well connected with its neighbours meaning visits to adjoining countries is easy but do check with your hire car company if you intend to travel across borders because you will need permission to take the across.
In the Czech Republic you will find that normally cars are rented with Collision Damage Waiver and Third Party cover included, but with a large excess (€800 is typical even for a small car, although for larger vehicles and MPVs we have seen examples of over £3000!) which you remain liable for (do always check any contract you are entering into to see exactly what the car rental insurance includes).
Instead of facing the dilemma and stress at the car hire desk we suggest getting a stand alone car hire insurance policy which will only cost a couple of pounds a day, but will cover both your excess and any damage to the tyres, wheels, underbody and roof of the car. You will end up with both cheaper and fuller cover than buying an alternative at the Czech Republic car rental desk.
In the winter you will need winter tyres - some companies include the cost of these in their rates, others don't, so again do your research.
