Looking for car hire in Canada? If so you are in the right place. We offer the widest selection of Canadian car rental as well as offering some of the best prices around for car hire with excess protection already included, car hire with independent excess protection or straightforward Canadian car hire.
Use either our 24 hour online service or call our friendly freephone telephone team on 0118 321 8197. You can book online or on the phone and we are fully confident that, once you have used us once, you will never book car hire in Canada through any other car hire company again.
You can drive in Canada on your normal UK licence, but the AA recommend obtaining an International Driving Permit. If you are in doubt talk to your chosen rental firm.
Canada is such a huge country that driving is one of the best options for getting around. We have car rental locations in all the major cities and airports and in many smaller towns too.
Car hire excess insurance: most (but not all) car hire booked through our site will include full CDW/TP and 3rd party cover but as Canadian residents can transfer their own car insurance onto a hired car, it's not always built in so do check. If offered a package without CDW you can always buy a separate policy through our site. It can be cheaper to go down this route than buying an all inclusive price. We can offer more information about car hire insurance in Canada.
Do be careful about any additional fees that might be levied by rental firms. Canadians are used to paying tax, airport fees and any number of extra fees on top of the base rental price - we tend not to be, and end up frustrated if we face a large extra bill at the end of a rental because we have not read the small print! Again, if in any doubt talk to your prospective rental firm.
If insurance is included we'd recommend considering an excess insurance policy to cover both any excess and areas that aren't covered by CDW policies provided by rental firms such as the tyres, windscreen and underside of the vehicle.
Third party liability cover will be supplied with the car but watch out for the term state minimum. Oddly in a country with such high medical costs, state minimum third party insurance limits can be much lower than in Europe. In most Canadian states the minimum tends to be around US$200k, but in some states it's much lower. Go over the border to the US and it's normally lower still. Buying a car hire insurance policy with Supplementary Liability Insurance (SLI) cover can raise the 3rd party liability limit to a more comfortable $1m.
