As host to both the World Cup and the Olympics Brazil has been a much visited tourist destination over the years. No doubt many more UK visitors will want to explore the fantastic country that is Brazil, and get out of the cities, and car hire is an excellent way of doing so. Without your own car there is so much of the countryside of Brazil that you might miss.
Although it is famed through the world for its beaches, there is a lot more to visit than just a few of the 2000 odd beaches that are on offer.
We suggest you also try to make the most of Brazil's outstanding landscapes and ecosystems including the Amazon River and Rainforest and Iguau Falls. There are 62 National Parks and many dozens of conservation areas in Brazil with the country winning many awards for its work.
The towns and cities of Brazil are well worth a visit - Ouro Preto and Brasilia are both Unesco World Heritage sites whilst Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo are both massive metropolitan areas.
Carnivals are everywhere in Brazil. It's a countrywide celebration and, whilst the most famous are in cities such as Rio, Salvador, Recife and Olinda, if you are in Brazil during carnival season you won't miss out. There are major events at other times of the year - international visitors are drawn by Reveillon, the Brazilian New Year celebration, and there are other events including Semana Santa (Brazilian Holy Week), Festas Juninas, Festa do Divino, Festa Nacional do Andio, LGBT Pride Parade in Sao Paulo and St Vito festival.
When booking car hire do check the car rental requirements regarding international driving permits in Brazil. Also be aware that some car hire packages exclude collision damage waiver (CDW) which can be compared through our CDW comparison service. The FCDO website is also a great place for Brazil travel advice.
MoneyMaxim offer you hassle free car rental at cheap rates in Brazil, with car hire excess insurance making your trip that bit smoother and considerably cheaper than buying equivalent cover at the rental desk.
