Chile car hire deals can offer insurance inclusive prices, or a package which requires the purchase of insurance separately. Whilst the rental firm will offer to supply this directly to you, this can often be far more expensive than independent policies.

If your deal includes Collision Damage Waiver and 3rd party Liability insurance you might well want to consider an excess insurance policy. Whilst CDW excesses are often low in Chile, excesses charged if your rental car is stolen are normally much larger. Also these policies will cover damage to the tyres, wheels, underbody and roof of the car which pretty much all car hire rental firms exclude from their insurance cover.
